Meet Aria

Hello!

It is my honor and delight to walk with people through the transformative journeys of life, and pregnant women and families have an amazing opportunity to embrace such a journey.

My Story as a Doula

Since 2022, I’ve had a fascination with childbirth and have delighted in learning about it – namely, that it can be much more amazing than anyone ever told me. Far beyond the universal hope for a safe mother and baby, birth is an incredible opportunity for encouragement, healing, and transformation in the life of the mother and family! Attending a friend’s home birth of her third child as a prayerful presence in summer of 2024 showed me that supporting women and families in this process is a wonderful way for me to serve out of my gifts. I have a BA in Christian Worship and Congregational Ministry from Messiah University and am in the process of becoming certified as a Birth Doula through Childbirth International. I serve mothers and families in the West Shore, Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York areas. Along with the title of birth doula, I resonate with the roles of minister, caregiver, pastor, sister, and guide. My experiences have taught me that our human processes are simultaneously physical, psychological, spiritual, and relational, which has given me my holistic approach to childbearing.

What I Care About as a Doula

Wholeness
  • Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum are an amazing opportunity for mothers and families to reconcile, heal, and grow with themselves, God, and others.

  • Husbands/partners, families, and loved ones deserve support as they support the mother.

Mother's Intuition
  • Every mother has God-given instincts about herself and her baby. As a doula, I empower her trust in herself and hold space for her to labor and make decisions according to her intuition.

Informed Care
  • Breathing as well as hands-on and positioning techniques that understand the physiological process of birth can help baby move down and care for the mother's pelvic floor.

Honor
  • Childbirth is sacred, and a woman deserves to feel unobserved, empowered, and free to connect with God, herself, her spouse, and/or her loved ones in this process.

  • Birthing aware of trauma, grief, and epigenetics creates opportunities for release and healing.

Openness
  • A mother surrendering to God and embracing the opening of her body are gifts to her birthing process.

Delight
  • Women should be supported in their ability to experience confidence and ecstasy through the intensity and emotional journey of childbirth.

More of My Background

My personal, educational, and professional backgrounds have shaped my holistic approach to pregnancy and childbirth.

Throughout my life, I have served as:

  • Minister and faith mentor to women on my college campus

  • Pastor to families and children within the local church

  • Caregiver to children and support to families as a nanny in the thick of Covid-19

  • Companion to friends walking through spiritual, psychological, relational, marital, sexual, and reproductive concerns

I am also:

  • A dancer, and growing up under the instruction of an inspiring community of women kindled my admiration for the female body’s marvelous design and power

  • A singer and musician – really, an artist and lover of beauty at heart

  • A lifelong learner about relationships, practical theology, and womanhood

I am honored to walk with families of any faith background in bringing their children into the world, and I do so respectfully of their beliefs and spirituality. I’m also aware that my Christian faith and experience as a minister will bless mothers and families who follow Jesus and want to journey together on that level.
